EASTPOINTE, Mich. – A 44-year-old man has been sentenced after his 5-year-old nephew shot himself in the foot in Eastpointe. On Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, Laron Alston was caring for his autistic nephew when he placed his registered .40-caliber Sig Sauer handgun on his recliner and covered it with blankets.
