The attorneys for Ian Roberts, the Des Moines Public Schools superintendent who was arrested last week by immigration authorities, held a news conference Tuesday.

Madisun VanGundy, of the Polk County Health Department, said no matter how healthy you are, it's important to remember the others you may put at risk.

"Dan was a tremendous leader in our school district and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Our school community is heartbroken by Dan’s death," officials with the school district said.
