Asheville 1 of 18 cities in heatmapping campaign GreenWorks to lead study
ASHEVILLE – Local nonprofit GreenWorks will map the hottest neighborhoods in Asheville and parts of Buncombe County, one of 18 cities in an international study on extreme heat in urban areas. On the ground, this means an extensive mapping campaign, where coordinated volunteers will set out on one of the hottest days of summer to travel a route, collecting temperatures and humidity data with specialized climate sensors.
