College softball Bison drop first Summit game on Western Illinois walkoff

MACOMB, Illinois — Cynthia Hull’s walk-off single in the eighth inning gave Western Illinois a 6-5 win over North Dakota State in a Summit League game on Saturday. The Bison trailed 5-4 through five innings but Skylar Padgett’s fielder’s choice drove in Faith Daehlin with the tying run in the sixth. In the eighth, the Leathernecks’ Georgia Rea singled to lead off and Kaylee Ketcherside reached on an error. Hull followed with a single to center to bring home Rea with the game-winner.
