FORT COLLINS — As the leader of the Colorado State football team’s offensive line, senior Jacob Gardner knows his unit is one that will be focused on heavily this spring. The first week of spring practice for the Rams concluded Saturday with the team’s first workout in pads and Gardner and the rest of the offensive line, which allowed 55 sacks last season, are heavily invested on improving their quarterback protection, while at the same time trying to gel as a unit with a mix of newcomers and veterans.
