SEQUIM — Locals who enjoy the Olympic Peninsula’s surroundings and are interested in learning about nature and making friends are encouraged to apply to be a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service volunteer at the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge. Refuge officials and the Friends of Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge are hosting a new volunteer training from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday on Zoom.
