Federal judge weighs starkly different views of Portland protests in hearing on National Guard Oregon Public Broadcasting OPB

The Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office reported Monday that its looking into four possible heat-related deaths between Friday and Sunday. Another suspected heat death has been reported in Coos County.

The Portland Association of Teachers formally began their strike Wednesday morning. Signs carried messages such as: “Our children can’t wait!” “On strike for safe schools,” and “Class size matters.”

The Oregon Health Authority is reporting over 800 cases of pertussis in the state as of Wednesday. The agency expects Oregon will soon surpass its 2012 record of 910 cases.
