PORT TOWNSEND — Wearing a face mask at healthcare facilities will no longer be required by the state Department of Health, but individual facilities may still require masks in certain settings. A March 31 order from state Secretary of Health Umair Shah lifted the masking requirement for healthcare facilities effective Monday, but Shah said individual facilities, businesses or school districts may still independently require masks in their facilities. Dr. Allison Berry, the health officer for Clallam and Jefferson counties, told the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners on Monday that case rates and hospitalizations from COVID-19 are decreasing nationally and locally.…
