Here are the few gaps left in FargoMoorheads levees and floodwalls
FARGO — Miles of floodwalls and levees that now snake through flood-prone neighborhoods take the place of millions of sandbags needed to hold back the record 2009 Red River flood. Since that flood fight, which narrowly averted catastrophe, the cities have been engaged in a building spree to erect floodwalls, levees and to beef up pumping stations. Once complete — and each city now is within a half mile of finishing the job — the need for temporary flood protections will no longer be needed in Fargo and Moorhead once the diversion project is completed in time to fight against…
