HALLANDALE BEACH – Legendary Barbadian jockey Patrick Husbands popped up at Gulfstream Park in Florida, with three rides on Saturday but failed to find success. The 49-year-old, who turns 50 next month, finished fifth in race one with 5-1 choice Mo Town Mayhem and three from last in race two with 22-1 bet Arms. Husbands also came up short with 8-1 chance Souper Hoity Toity in the US$150 000 Sand Springs Stakes – one of 10 added-money races on the 14-race Curlin Florida Derby card.
