Letang celebrated for reaching 1000 NHL games all with Penguins
PITTSBURGH — Kris Letang was honored by the Pittsburgh Penguins before playing his 1,000th NHL game on Sunday. The 35-year-old defenseman hit the milestone against the Philadelphia Flyers at PPG Paints Arena, joining teammates Sidney Crosby (1,185) and Evgeni Malkin (1,058) as the only players to play at least 1,000 games with the Penguins. “Whatever is going to happen on Sunday, that’s going to be it,” Letang said after practice Friday. “I tried to see what Sid and ‘Geno’ went through.
