MECHANIC FALLS — Town Manager Vic Hodgkins advised the Town Council on Monday evening that the town will get $100,00 more in state revenue than anticipated, lowering the proposed $1.84 million budget that taxpayers would be responsible for 2023-24. That’s an 8.7% increase from the $1.57 million for 2022-23. Councilors were also advised by Mary Martin, chairwoman of the Regional School Unit 16 board of directors, that the district will receive an additional $385,000 from the state for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
