Moonbound Michigan native making monumental history family says
GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The family of NASA astronaut Christina Hammock Koch could not be more excited after finding out she’s headed to the moon as part of the Artemis II space mission. Koch, who was born in Grand Rapids, was selected Monday as one of four astronauts to be the first group to travel to the moon for the first time in more than 50 years. Koch spent summers working on her family’s farm in Comstock Park.
