Perry County officials worried about decrease in SNAP benefits

NEW LEXINGTON – Perry County Job and Family Services officials are concerned a return to pre-pandemic SNAP benefits will have a huge effect on the working poor in Perry County, which in turn will trickle down to the county’s economy. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federally-funded program meant to supplement the food budget of families in need, according to the Perry County JFS website. The agency administers the program under the direction of the state of Ohio.
