Perry County officials worried about decrease in SNAP benefits
NEW LEXINGTON – Perry County Job and Family Services officials are concerned a return to pre-pandemic SNAP benefits will have a huge effect on the working poor in Perry County, which in turn will trickle down to the county’s economy. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federally-funded program meant to supplement the food budget of families in need, according to the Perry County JFS website.
