Santa Cruz eyes future of San Lorenzo Park as it reopens
SANTA CRUZ — Fresh from line dancing class at London Nelson Community Center, Sara Broderick strolled past quacking ducks and a handful of turtles sunning themselves in San Lorenzo Park’s duck pond Wednesday morning. Just days earlier, Santa Cruz City Parks and Recreation crews had taken down the ubiquitous chain link fencing that had been wrapped around the park’s pond, playground and public green spaces since last year.
