WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. — To remember the lives of Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Chris Ward and Deputy Logan Fox, the town of Boone will be decked out in blue lights for the month of April.
The sheriff’s office is asking all businesses to shine lights outside their properties to honor the fallen officers’ memories.
Both Ward and Fox were killed in the line of duty during a large shooting in Watauga County, which killed a total of five people.
April 28 will mark the two-year anniversary since the officers were killed.
