USS Orleck relocates to permanent home at Shipyards West Internewscast
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The USS Orleck, which had been docked outside the Hyatt Regency downtown for more than a year, finally relocated to its permanent home near Bay Street on Monday after several delays. But the move wasn’t completely smooth. When the Orleck arrived at Shipyards West, there was a delay in getting it docked because the ship’s rudder became stuck in the mud. Workers were able to move the massive warship into place, however, where it will be ready to welcome visitors again soon.
