Pilot injured in aircraft crash in rural Clay County

CLAY COUNTY — A crash of an “ultralight aircraft” in a farm field near a private landing strip in rural Clay County resulted in the pilot suffering serious injuries and his being transported to a hospital for treatment. The crash occurred before 7 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at 20600 Old Missouri Highway 210. “Deputies have notified the FAA of the incident, which would provide any follow-up investigation,” said Sarah Boyd, Clay County Sheriff’s Office public relations manager Sunday night.
